What will be the Impact?

As it has been observed, the program-457 is mostly used by the cooking, management, marketing, and programming professionals and as of now, we are not sure about the status of these occupations. However, we can say that all these professions will not be affected. Also, the applications that are lodged before the change will not get affected in any way if your occupation is still on the list at the time of decision making.

Consequently, the impact will be that the professional cannot apply for a skilled independent visa that comes under subclass-189. Also, he/she cannot even apply under the subclass-485. However, it’s to be noted that the applications been sent before this change coming into play will not have any problem. Has it happenedbefore?

Some might ask me whether it has happened before. The answer is ‘yes’. Every year, the occupations are reviewed and the list is being updated. However, all the occupations that are predicted will not be removed. As history suggests, a number of occupations that have been predicted previous year were not taken from the list during the current year update. The criteria that will be considered during the update will be the demand, as well as the supply. As per our company’s One Visa research team, the amount of training needed will also be considered.
